Dari arah berlawanan Commuterline Bandung Raya bergerak dari arah Padalarang dengan tujuan Cicalengka.
Akibat tabrakan keras tersebut, tiga gerbong commuterline line anjlok, sedangkan KA turangga yang anjlok 8 gerbong. Kecelakaan juga mengakibatkan kerusakan dari kedua kereta.
Terlihat bahkan ada gerbong yang sampai keluar rel Manajer Humas PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daop 2 Bandung Ayep Hanapi membenarkan peristiwa kecelakaan tersebut.
PT KAI sendiri, belum merilis jumlah korban hingga saat ini. Agus mengatakan upaya selanjutnya dari KAI adalah melakukan upaya evakuasi 2 rangkaian kereta api dan perbaikan jalur rel yang mengalami kerusakan.
“Bagi perjalanan KA-KA yang akan melintas di wilayah Haurpugur-Cicalengka, KAI akan melakukan upaya rekayasa pola operasi berupa jalan memutar dan pengalihan menggunakan angkutan lain,” katanya.
